🌿 The RooThir Story
From a small beginning to a brand with a purpose
RooThir is more than a name on a product. It represents a journey — a journey of learning, starting small, making mistakes, improving, and continuing forward.
At the heart of this journey is Thiranjaya Athukorala, the owner and founder behind RooThir.
🌱 Where it started — Nurra Ceylon
Before RooThir became the name people see today, the journey began under the name Nurra Ceylon.
It was the first step toward building something of his own. Like many young entrepreneurs, Thiranjaya did not begin with everything perfectly planned. He began with an idea, curiosity, determination, and the desire to create something meaningful.
Nurra Ceylon became the starting point.
Through that beginning, he learned about products, customers, branding, packaging, marketing, business decisions, and—most importantly—how difficult it can be to turn an idea into something real.
🔄 From Nurra Ceylon to RooThir
As the journey continued, Thiranjaya realised that the brand needed an identity that felt more connected to his own vision.
Gradually, the idea of RooThir was born.
The change was not simply about changing a name.
It represented growth.
Nurra Ceylon was where the journey began.
RooThir became the identity of where the journey was going.
Instead of trying to become a perfect brand overnight, Thiranjaya chose to develop RooThir step by step.
Better products.
Better presentation.
Better packaging.
Better customer experience.
Better understanding of business.
One small improvement at a time.
💚 Why RooThir?
RooThir was created with a simple belief:
A small beginning can become something meaningful when you refuse to stop learning.
The brand's journey is especially about taking Sri Lankan ingredients and ideas and presenting them in a way that can connect with modern customers.
From products such as RooThir Rosemary Cooking Powder, the goal is to build a trusted Sri Lankan brand gradually—not simply sell a product.
🌿 The meaning behind the journey
RooThir's story is not:
“We started big.”
It is:
“We started somewhere.”
There were ideas that worked.
There were ideas that needed to change.
There were moments of uncertainty.
There were lessons from customers.
And there were times when continuing was more important than being perfect.
That is what makes the journey worth sharing with fans.

🫶 A Message from Thiranjaya to RooThir Fans
“RooThir did not become what it is today in one day. It grew from a small beginning, through learning, changing and trying again.
Nurra Ceylon was an important part of that beginning. RooThir is the next chapter of the journey.
Every product, every customer and every small improvement adds another page to this story.
I don't want RooThir to be remembered only as a brand. I want it to be remembered as proof that you can start small, learn from every experience, and slowly build something you believe in.”
🌿 RooThir
